The articles and letters from the Mercury News are available online from their web site. I cannot link them here because it is a subscription based service and cannot copy them here because they are copyrighted.

Even though the Mercury is campaigning for turning Moffett into a cargo airfield, I still think subscribing to Mercury Center is a good idea. The Mercury has covered Moffett developments quite well. If you get any home delivery, even just the Sunday paper, it costs $1 a month to get the full text of the entire day's paper (and comics). The News Library where I found all the old articles on Moffett costs an additional 25 cents per article retrieved during non-prime time; searches and abstracts are free.

The Sunnyvale Sun newspaper covers Moffett and other local issues. It's delivered free to many Sunnyvale residents, and is available online (free) at http://www.boulevards.com/metroactive/papers/sunnyvale.sun/ . For your friends with computers but without Internet access, The Sun is also available on the Virtual Valley Community Network dial-up bulletin board service at 408-298-8646.

If you don't want to subscribe to Mercury Center, there is another way to read the back articles on Moffett. It's called the public library. Remember what that is? It's like a big web site with high latency, where the full text of millions of books and periodicals are available for very high bandwidth access and retrieval, with full time sysops available in real time to assist you with your search parameters.
